Movement patterns
Build around squat, hinge, push, pull, carry and trunk stability with variations suited to the person.

CAPABILITY BEFORE APPEARANCE
Strength is a long-term adaptation. Train the major patterns, use controlled technique and add difficulty only when the current work is owned.
Enter the system ↓01 / THE FOUNDATION
Build around squat, hinge, push, pull, carry and trunk stability with variations suited to the person.
Add reps, load, range, control or complexity gradually. Progress is more than adding weight.
Most work should stop with clean technique still available. Failure is a tool, not the identity of every set.
The 2026 ACSM update emphasises regular progressive training.
02 / THE PROTOCOL
Use the same sequence until good decisions become easier to reproduce under pressure.
Raise temperature, move the involved joints and rehearse the exact pattern with easier sets.
Place the most important strength or skill movement while concentration is highest.
Use a load that preserves control and record reps, load and effort.
Increase only when the target is met without pain or technical collapse.

FIELD CHECKLIST
01Is today’s goal strength, skill or volume?
02Can I control the full range?
03How many clean reps remain?
04What changed from last week?
05What pain signal requires a regression?
FAILURE PATTERNS
×Ego loading
×Changing exercises every session
×Training through sharp or escalating pain
×Using soreness as the score
